{still} snowing

It's been snowing for days…
It's freezing cold…
No school Friday, Monday or today due to the extreme cold…
-----
We were able to get out a play a bit on Saturday before the temperature dropped again.
The snow banks are so high we can sled down them and jump from them.

Hopefully we are back to school tomorrow…

{outdoor} skate

John took the kids downtown to the Great Skate.  They skated for an hour on the outdoor rink.

snow {beard}

In case you ever want a snow beard…here is one way to achieve it.

just a {little} snow

We are in the middle of a big snow storm.  It has been snowing for over 24 hours and it is expected to continue and the temperature is dropping.  We took advantage of the fresh snow and played outside earlier today…when we went out there was a little more than 5 inches of new snow and the temperature was around 24 degrees.

After these pictures we ran inside to change hats and we headed back out for more sledding…mom included!

We have received so much snow and temps are so low that school has already been cancelled for tomorrow.

{seven}

What?!
Maddie Paige is seven!!
Doesn't seem like it's possible!  Time really does fly!

We had a low key day after all the driving, late nights/early mornings for the outdoor hockey games.  She opened one gift in the morning and discovered some grey boots that she had been wanting along with a pair of skinny jeans.  Then we went to Target to pick out a toy and a shirt.  Followed by family lunch and frozen yogurt.  More gifts were opened in the afternoon…books and some black boots.  After dinner we enjoyed an assortment of cupcakes.

{To our surprise Mister Elf was on Madison's birthday tree when we woke up.  We hadn't had time to send an invitation for him to come visit.  Love that North Pole magic!}

winter {classic}

We met up the Jill & Tom, Stacey & Jim and 105,000 others to experience the Winter Classic.  It was a balmy 11 degrees when we arrived in Ann Arbor at 8:30am to tailgate.  Snow was already falling and only intensified throughout the day.  Most of us lost feeling in our toes and definitely took us hours to warm back up.  But we can say we were there and survived the elements!  Toronto won in the shootout.

{John found a buddy--it wasn't until between the 2nd and 3rd periods we discovered Ozzie was sitting right behind us}
