We spent the morning at the Children's Museum...

butterfly garden {day 13}

4 butterflies emerged today...

...of course we weren't around to see it happen!

The 5th one is getting darker so maybe it will emerge soon.

We transferred the chrysalides to the butterfly habitat this morning before school.  The 5th caterpillar transformed into a chrysalis yesterday...it just didn't climb to the top of the cup to do so.  We placed it on the paper towel at the bottom.  Hopefully in 7-10 days we will have beautiful butterflies!

Today 4 of the 5 caterpillars climbed to the top of the cup and changed into chrysalides.  No one saw their transformation as we were away with gymco and work.  The 5th caterpillar is still eating...

dance recital {2012}

We completed another year of dance!

This year for recital Maddie did a tap dance to Baby Face.  Madison did awesome and was honored to have Grandma & Grandpa Bernal, Mim and Aunt Jill, along with us, cheering in the audience for her.

driving range {family fun}

We've designated every Friday this summer as 'family fun friday' at our house.  Today we went to the driving range to hit a few golf balls after checking out the farmer's market downtown.  It's just fun to get out as a family and to explore and try new things.

Since the little guy plays sports left-handed, he got his own new set...so much for sharing.

Jackson got a hair cut today and let them spike his hair for the first time.  He normally says no.  This momma thinks he looks handsome!

John and I started playing in a (very laid back) golf league last week.  We play with 9 other couples/teams  every Thursday night.  Last week was the first time I have touched my clubs since before Maddie was born.  I'm learning lots every week and it's been great so far!

butterfly garden {day 1}

Madison received a butterfly garden as a birthday gift from the Huntoon family.  Since the weather has warmed up, we had the caterpillars shipped to us.  Madison was so excited when they arrived in the mail and couldn't wait to open them.  Stay tuned to see their progress into butterflies.

grand haven {beach}

The kids wanted to go to the 'big lake' today.  We decided to check out the beach at the state park in Grand Haven.  The 'big lake' is still a little cold for swimming...at least for us.  Perfect for playing.

garage sale {find}

We walked around the neighborhood this weekend for the community garage sales.  This was our only buy...

Kids really like it...guess we will have to be on the lookout for another!

camel {ride}

John and the kids went to the zoo.  They got to see Henry, the new baby camel, and ride a camel.  More and more animals are back from winter hibernation every time we go.

We went to Grandma & Grandpa Bernal's house today to see the family and to celebrate Stacey's birthday.  The kids (big ones included) had lots of fun playing outside.
