Ready...Set...

Since I just posted this morning, Jack got up on his hands and knees and rocked. He stayed long enough for me to get a few pictures and a little video.

( I must admit that even though it kinda looks like a black eye...I just forgot sunscreen when we went to the park the other day. It wasn't that warm and sunny when we left, but we all came home with pink faces. I now know that my little blond hair, blue eyed, pale child will need sunscreen every time we head outside. I'm just so used to Maddie and her olive skin where it's not so bad if I forget sunscreen once. Lesson learned!)

New Tricks

Jack is sitting up now!!

He has been working on it for a few weeks and now is very good at it.

We went to a park/festival on Saturday. Jack got to sit in the grass...I think it was his first time as we don't have grass in our yard.

Jack is almost crawling. He can get up on his hands and knees and rock...he'll be off and causing more trouble soon. In the meantime, he rolls and does an 'army crawl' to get where he wants to go.

Family Swim

It's been warm here the last couple of days so we turned on the pool. Yesterday we had a little family swim. I had to capture a few pictures before I got in as it was Jack's first time to really spend time in the pool.

Maddie got out the Dr scrubs and medical kit from the Grimes yesterday (along with every other toy we own it looks like.) Mim and P captured these pictures when John and I were working.

I have been taking Maddie's temperature alot lately due to our double ear infection. I'm not surprised that the ears were the first thing she checked out on Jack.

What A Week

It's been one of those weeks at the Bernal house. Everyone is sick. I have been up every night with a sick kid. I have been at the doctor's office 3 days this week!

Jack turned 6 months old this week!! Half way to 1 year!!

Jack started out the week with viral rash...looks great on a light skinned, blonde hair baby! Then I took him for his 6 month visit on Thursday. He was a little wheezy so we had to get a breathing treatment before we left. I'm just hoping that the fever and runny nose he has now is from the shots.
Maddie followed Jack's rash with a night of puking and a couple of nights waking up with a fever. I finally took her in today and she has an ear infection. We did make it to school for a couple of hours today to drop off valentines.

The last few days have been all about Maddie and going to school. But Jack is enjoying the undivided attention he is now getting while Maddie is in school.

School

Maddie started going to school today. She is going 3 half-days each week. They told me she did great on her first day. I think it was harder for me to drop her off and leave. My little girl is growing up so fast. Hopefully tomorrow goes as good as today.

Even though they didn't win, we enjoyed watching the big game and cheering for the Cardinals.

Yea Maddie!!!

Yea...no more pull-ups!!!

Maddie decided about a year ago that she would only wear pull-ups. This week she decided that there would be no more pull-ups during the day...just big girl pants!!! All week we have wore panties during the day and when we go out, with just a couple of accidents. Tonight, I told her that she was going to wear a pull-up to the hockey game but let me know when she has to go to the potty. Well, I got my exercise climbing the stairs at the arena with her a few times but she had dry pants when we got home!!! Yea Maddie!!! --our cheer for using the potty-along with some clapping :)
