Sea World

We decided to go to Sea World today since it is less than 10 minutes from our house. We got our season passes and watched the Shamu show. I'm sure we enjoyed the trip more than Maddie but it was nice to get out before the rain comes later today.

Daddy and Maddie went to Babies R Us yesterday...they came home with more than a soother for her crib :)

Maddie loves to hold your hands and pull herself up to stand. While we were in Michigan taking family pictures I had the studio take one of her standing. I think it turned out cute.

Maddie Rolled Over

Maddie rolled over from her back to her stomach today. She did it with Daddy about 15 minutes after I left for work this morning. I missed it but Daddy did get her to do it again and videoed it. She also rolled for me after I got home. It seems that Maddie has changed a lot in the past couple of weeks. We are eating food, rolling over, and getting more active every day. Her personality is definitely starting to come out.

Sweet Potatoes

We tried sweet potatoes today. Maddie had no complaints. I think she actually liked them or at least liked playing with them. Here are before, during, and after pictures.

Looking Back

So after seeing many new babies in the last few weeks, I was looking back at our blog. You forget how fast they grow and change. I also noticed that Maddie's nursery has changed too. Thought I would post some pictures of it [while it is clean :)]

We Made it Home

Well we made it home from vacation. We had lots of fun and got to see much of the family. Maddie was spoiled by everyone and now has to adjust to being with just Mommy and Daddy.

Baptism

We had Maddie baptised during mass today. It was a blessed day. Maddie was awake for all of her ceremony. We were so happy that our family and many friends could join us. It made the day that more special.

Michigan...here we come

So we left Thursday morning for Michigan on our first "family vacation." Maddie did wonderful on the airplane. She was awake for the majority of the flight but wasn't "that annoying baby" that everyone dreads. We stayed the first night at Grandma & Grandpa Bernal's. We also got to see our new nephew, Jimmy, for the first time. Friday we got up early to make the 5 hour trip to the Soo (Grammy & Grampy's house). Maddie and Mommy slept for most of the car ride in the back seat. We did make a stop at Central Michigan University (where John got his undergrad degree) to get Maddie a little Central t-shirt.

Cereal

So we got the ok to start solids. This is Maddie trying the ceral tonight. She didn't have a whole lot but did really well and we didn't make a big mess.

4 month checkup

We went to the doctor today for Maddie's 4 month checkup/shots. She is now over 25 inches and weighs 14 pounds 8 ounces. Everything went well...this is the face we got after the shots. Notice the real tear falling. Mommy thought the face was so cute and made Daddy hurry and take a picture.
Everything is good now...the pain has been forgotten.

Maddie is 4 months old today. She decided to start the celebration early...if I remember correctly from my sleep it was about 4:30-5:00am. It is now after 8am and think we are ready for a nap finally. We go to the doctor tomorrow for our 4 month visit, so I will update on Maddie's growth.

Practice, Practice, Practice

Right now Maddie is working on sitting up. She normally falls right over but in the last couple of days she has learned to brace herself with her arms. We love watching her discover and try new things daily.

May Day

It was a year ago today that I found out that I was pregnant. I found out that morning after John had already left for work, so I went to the Harley store on my way to work to get him the "My dad rides a Harley" t-shirt. They only had a 12 month size left...Maddie will have to wait to wear it. John was grilling out that night so I had to tell him right away as he was about to make us a pitcher of margaritas :)
This is the picture that we took to tell our families. We put it in a frame and gave it to our moms as their Mother's Day present while we were in Michigan last year.
