Grammy's gone

Grammy (Susan's mom) who has been here since before Maddie was born had to go back to Michigan yesterday. Now that hockey season is over, it's just the 3 of us. I'm definitely going to miss the little things without Grammy...no more leaving Maddie for a quick trip to run an errand. But we go to Michigan in less than 2 weeks to see both my family and John's family. It should be fun and a new experience for us...flying and a long car ride with a 4 month old. We can't wait to see everyone.

The Early Bird

Maddie's new wake up time is 5:45am much to the enjoyment of Mommy and Daddy. These pictures were taken at about 6am this morning...I begged her for just 30 more minutes of sleep. As you can see-I lost.

Jimmy Buffett

John and I went to Houston on Saturday for the Jimmy Buffett Concert. It was my first night away from Maddie...I did really good. We had lots of fun.
This is a picture of Minute Maid Park from our seats looking back. We had really great seats (all of these people were behind us).
The one and only Jimmy...

Strawberry Festival

Madison, Grammy, and I went to the Strawberry Festival in Poteet, TX today. (A little trivia-Poteet is the birthplace of George Strait.) It was your typical Texas county fair/rodeo but on a little bigger scale. It was nice to get out, walk around, and enjoy the sunny day. Daddy went to Houston today for the last hockey game of the season.

Happy Easter!!

We had a great Easter morning. Daddy hid presents for all of us which was a great surprise. Maddie also got great gifts from Grammy & Grampy, Grandma & Grandpa, Aunt Stacey, Uncle Jim, and cousins Shelby & Jimmy. Thanks...we love everything. There will probably be more pics but for now it's nap time for Maddie...

Sensory Overload

Daddy put together the exersaucer yesterday before he left for the final long road trip of this hockey season (yeah!!!). There were a couple more pieces in the box than he expected.
Maddie can just reach the bottom with her tippy-toes. She is still a little young for it but she will pull herself up from a reclining position to a standing position just by holding on to your fingers. We thought we would put it together and give it a try. A couple minutes is all she can take right now...but it won't be long til it is pure entertainment. (thanks again to all the "golden girls"- grammy's friends- in the Sault for this wonderful toy)

Opening Day

Yesterday was "Opening Day" and Maddie spent time with Daddy. From what I hear they played, ate, and watched the Tigers. Daddy took the pictures during their day together.

April Fools Day

I really wanted Madison's picture with the bluebonnets (the Texas state flower for those of you who don't know). We went out today to try to get a picture since they are really blooming now. It was too sunny for Madison and she really wasn't into it. The top picture is the best we got today. Maybe we will try again another day.

We get home and Madison is all about posing and talking. Kids...they never perform when you want them to:)

Hockey, Hockey, Hockey

Tonight was Madison's 2nd game sitting in the stands at the hockey game (we usually sit in the family room). Maddie stayed awake the whole game just watching everything. The Rampage won 6-3. Just one more road trip and in a couple of weeks hockey will be over. Then Daddy and Maddie start watching lots of baseball together.
